Sales Manager Jobs in North Carolina

A Sales Manager in the publishing industry is tasked with leading and guiding a team of sales people. Their main responsibility is to develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase the company's sales of books and other publications, also to achieve sales targets. They are in charge of setting individual sales targets, preparing sales reports, and providing feedback and coaching to the sales team. They are also expected to build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and conduct business negotiations.

Essential skills for a Sales Manager in the publishing industry include excellent communication and leadership skills, good business and financial understanding, strategic planning, ability to analyze market trends and sales data, and proficiency in sales software. In terms of qualifications, a degree in Business, Marketing or related field is usually required, while a master's degree or a certification in Sales or Marketing can be an advantage. Before becoming a Sales Manager, a person might have roles such as Sales Representative, Account Manager, or Senior Sales Associate in the publishing or a related industry.
