Circulations Director Jobs
A Circulations Director plays a crucial role in the publishing industry, overseeing the distribution of publications to retailers, subscribers, and vendors. Their primary responsibilities include setting distribution strategies, analyzing sales data, managing budgets, and ensuring the timely & efficient delivery of publications. They work closely with marketing, editorial, and sales teams to optimize circulation numbers and revenue. In addition, they may also be responsible for managing relationships with external distribution partners and vendors, monitoring market trends, and making recommendations for improvements.
A Circulations Director should possess strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills. A deep understanding of the publishing industry and distribution processes is crucial. Knowledge in data analysis and relevant software tools is also beneficial. While there are no specific certifications required, a degree in business, marketing, or a related field is often preferred. Prior experience in the publishing industry is essential. A person might work as a Circulations Manager, Distribution Manager, or Sales Manager in the publishing industry before stepping into the role of a Circulations Director.
