Overview
As a Senior Instructional Designer, you will lead the design and development of effective learning solutions that align with business goals. Leveraging your expertise in instructional design, you will mentor and guide other instructional designers, collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to create engaging training materials for diverse audiences. This role requires creativity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of training solutions, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training (ILT), and virtual instructor-led training (vILT).
- Partner with SMEs and stakeholders to analyze learning needs and create content that addresses specific business objectives.
- Utilize advanced instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to craft engaging and impactful learning experiences.
- Oversee the development of storyboards, scripts, and other instructional materials for a variety of delivery formats.
- Leverage learning technologies such as Articulate, Captivate, or similar tools to create interactive and visually appealing content.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and metrics analysis, recommending improvements as necessary.
- Maintain documentation and version control of instructional materials and courseware.
- Support the implementation of training programs by coordinating logistics and facilitating sessions as needed.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to other instructional designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative learning environment.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, or a related field.
- 5 plus years of experience in instructional design or a related field.
- Proficiency in instructional design tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, or similar).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and SCORM compliance.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time to support training sessions and collaboration across various locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a corporate learning environment or working with a Learning Management System (LMS).
- Familiarity with multimedia design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
- Basic understanding of data-driven training evaluation.
- Certifications in instructional design or related fields (e.g., ATD, CPTD, or similar).
