Job DescriptionThe Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for the development and execution of visual creative concepts and production design. This is a critical role within our in-house creative team that will create the visual artwork that communicates ideas that inspire, inform and captivate consumers, influencers and professionals. This position will have one Graphic Designer reporting into and will be responsible for overseeing and managing the work of the incumbent in this role.
Location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL . Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness, and recreation.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with team members from Product, Channel, Sales and external agencies to translate marketing needs into unique, brand-driven, consumer/customer-focused designs within budget.
- Deliver high quality creative content while maintaining consistently high standards throughout the production process. Balance multiple projects with tight deadlines to ensure work is delivered on time.
- Design and develop creative materials from concept to production on a wide variety of projects that may include: POP, signage, product launch support, packaging, labels, marketing materials and more.
- Facilitate reviews both internally and externally while providing consistent updates and meeting varied deadlines.
- Consult with internal clients (i.e. Marketing Services, Channel, Product) to create cohesive designs that reflect our goals and standards at our retailers and with our customers and influencers.
- Offer thought leadership to solve business needs through smart design solutions. Reach design solutions quickly and efficiently, sometimes with multiple voices and stakeholders.
- Work with team members on strategies and designs to reach a particular audience. Lead overall layout and production design for project-related production work utilizing knowledge of printing specs and materials. Work with third party printers/vendors to execute.
- Combine art and technology, using a variety of design elements, to communicate brand and product detail through images and the layout of materials whether hard-copy or digital.
- Manage the design workflow process to traffic design jobs efficiently through the department, working closely with the Senior Manager, Marketing Services.
- Organize complex and disparate source materials into simpler, integrated, impactful visual design.
- Stay abreast of and analyze trends in design; share across the creative services team as an in-house graphic design expert. Proactively create style guides driving the evolution and improvement of Moens creative design process.
- Interpret feedback and solve to that appropriately; proactively manage the feedback loop.
- Maintain organization of art files utilizing Moens Digital Asset Management system.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelors degree in Graphic Design or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of graphic design experience in an agency or corporate environment is required. B2B and B2C experience is a plus.
- Strong portfolio showing design skills and process.
- Strong production skills, with an eye for detail.
- Ability to manage the work of another Graphic Designer.
- Ability to translate concept ideas to presentable mock-ups. Ability to work in a highly-collaborative, rapidly changing environment with tight timelines and multiple priorities.
- Outstanding oral and presentation-based communication skills. Ability to work in a project management system such as Asana, Workfront or Basecamp, as well as experience in a Digital Asset Management system, such as Widen.
- Must be proficient in MAC operating systems, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe In-Design, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteWord, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $60,000 USD - $99,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
