The Department of Orthopaedics at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a publications manager. We are a vibrant department with over 50 physician providers, 30 residents, 8 post-graduate fellows, multiple practice extenders, and continuous interaction with College of Medicine students. We regularly publish more than 200 peer reviewed articles per year in prestigious scientific journals. We also create numerous book chapters per year and create content for e-publication.
The publication manager will:

- Edit and format manuscripts, including text, tables, charts, illustrations, and references
- Ensure that manuscript content and formatting comply with specific journal requirements for publication

- Guide and mentor our learners and advise our clinicians in the conception, design, and creation of scientific manuscripts

- Manage the funding of submission expenses
- Submit manuscripts to scientific journals
- Address editorial recommendations and manuscript revisions
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree. Masters degree (MA or MS) preferred
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in the life sciences or similar programs
- A fundamental understanding of medical terminology
- A fundamental understanding of human anatomy, particularly musculoskeletal anatomy
- A rudimentary familiarity with statistical analysis
- 2 years of experience in scientific manuscript preparation preferred
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
