Duties
Monitor news wires, social media, scanners, and other sources for breaking news and developing stories.
Communicate with reporters, photographers, and other resources to cover stories effectively and efficiently.
Collaborate with producers and the news team to develop story ideas and plan coverage.
Serve as the central point of contact for all newsroom operations, ensuring clear and timely communication between reporters, producers, and other staff.
Maintain strong relationships with community contacts, public information officers, and other news sources. Coordinate the logistics of news coverage, including scheduling and deploying field crews.
Ensure that all necessary equipment and resources are available and functioning for news coverage.
Responsibilities
Bachelors degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a newsroom environment, preferably in a similar role.
Strong understanding of news gathering and newsroom operations.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Proficiency in using newsroom computer systems and software.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $48.25 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
