As a Digital Designer at Skullcandy, you will be a key driver of success within our global ecommerce and direct-to-consumer team. Your primary goal is to blend creativity with functionality, ensuring designs are visually appealing, on brand, and optimized for performance across digital touchpoints, including websites, retail marketplaces, online advertising platforms, and Skullcandy applications. You will create visually compelling and user-centered design assets that improve consumer experience and enhance consumer engagement, ensuring that every interaction with Skullcandy is seamless and conversion-optimized. Collaborating with Creative, Ecommerce & Retail marketplace, and Growth & Marketing teams, your work will play a pivotal role in elevating Skullcandy brand experience and driving growth across digital and ecommerce channels.

Primary Functional Responsibilities

Design & Asset Creation

  • Develop high-quality, visually engaging digital assets (banners, landing pages, product images, promotional materials) that align with Skullcandy's brand guidelines and marketing objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create designs that are optimized for performance across ecommerce platforms, retail marketplaces, online ads, and Skullcandy's applications.
  • Focus on delivering assets that enhance consumer engagement, streamline the consumer journey, and drive conversions on digital touchpoints.
  • Ensure that designs align with the overarching digital strategy set by the Director of Global Ecommerce Digital Experience and create wireframes, prototypes, and design mockups to communicate design concepts effectively.

User Experience & Optimization

  • Work closely with the UX/UI teams to ensure design elements are user-centered, responsive, and enhance the digital shopping experience.
  • Drive design improvements across key ecommerce platforms (Skullcandy's website, Amazon, Bestbuy.com, etc) and digital touchpoints, ensuring that consumer interactions are seamless, engaging, and optimized for conversion.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gain insight into user behavior and preferences.
  • Apply data insights and consumer feedback to refine design elements, continuously optimizing the user journey and enhancing the overall shopping experience.

Brand Consistency & Innovation

  • Lock-step with Creative team strategy and direction, uphold Skullcandy's brand guidelines and ensure consistent brand representation across global direct-to-consumer digital channels.
  • Stay ahead of design trends, emerging technologies, and digital platform best practices to ensure that designs remain fresh, competitive, and on the cutting edge of consumer expectations.
  • Use creativity to push the boundaries of design while adhering to established best practices for digital performance, accessibility, and usability.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner with Creative, Ecommerce & Retail Marketplace, and Growth & Marketing teams to ensure design assets meet business objectives, are aligned with global ecommerce initiatives, and support growth and engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Global Ecommerce Digital Experience to design and implement new site features, optimizations, and content strategies for Skullcandy's omnichannel vision.
  • Work with developers and marketing teams to ensure the implementation of designs are executed flawlessly, meeting both creative and functional requirements.

Project Management & Timely Delivery

  • Collaborate with area experts, developers, marketers and creative teams to define project goals, requirements, and timelines.
  • Take ownership of design deliverables, from concept to production, ensuring they align with ecommerce and digital marketing goals.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality execution within set timelines and specifications.
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams to manage expectations and ensure design work aligns with business timelines and marketing strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in UI/UX design and 3+ years' experience in digital creative design
  • Proficient in industry standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, and more
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and information architecture.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and embody team vision and corporate strategy.
