About the Role
This position exists to contribute to the development, sales and management of custom legal publications (CLP) and to assist Directors or Managers in meeting product line annual revenue goals.
Responsibilities
Maintain relationships with state agencies, private associations, partners, customers, and others through face-to-face or telephone contact, written correspondence, and participation in trade shows
Assist in drafting proposals to and communicating with prospective customers and partners. Interact with other departments as needed to support new and existing relationships
Prepare cost estimates, product specification documents, and status reports to assist in maintaining expected product revenue and profit levels and meeting required schedules
Collect and analyze data to aid in tracking sales and costs for all assigned publications
Research, analyze, and report on new and existing markets, competitors, and prospective strategic relationship partners
Assist in implementing marketing plans and strategies for both proprietary and contractual publications, including strategic partnerships
Work within team framework to help other team members at all times so that team revenue and individual goals are met
Requirements
Prior experience working with custom legal publications ("CLP") in editorial, operations, or sales is preferred
Aptitude for sales, marketing and customer relations
Ability to perform research and analysis with attention to detail
Ability to establish innovative solutions and procedures to meet challenging problems and improve processes
Must be flexible and able to prioritize and handle multiple projects
Proficiency with personal computers and software (Excel, Word, Contact Management Software, Internet browsers and search engines, etc.)
Must be able to travel periodically throughout the year
