Location: hybrid role in Detroit MI, Charlotte NC, Lewisville TX or Little Rock AR (3 days in office / 2 days remote); preference is in Little Rock or Charlotte

Spend your day focused on meeting business and learner needs and positively impacting business results. Instructional Designers are responsible for participating in and potentially leading complex projects of varying scope in a highly collaborative project team environment. Teams align learning solutions to business requirements using adult learning theories, accepted instructional design processes, and L&D ROI methodology. Strong project management, collaboration, and communication skills ensure fast-paced project completion according to requirements and deadlines. Instructional Design authoring tools are used to create learning courses and curriculum that engages learners and drives proficiency and application.

The Work Itself

  • Execute learning strategies in alignment with objectives that drive business results; ability to identify links between key business issues and assigned learning projects.
  • Participate in, and at times lead, collaborative project teams to develop and present learning proposals including performance gap analysis, training need assessments, L&D ROI objectives, resource requirements, etc. for a variety of lines of business and enterprise efforts.
  • Develop and execute project plans to meet instructional design deadlines as well as project team deadlines for courses, curriculum, and other L&D efforts.
  • Write, design, develop, deliver, and evaluate learning content and effective proficiency/application exercises utilizing accepted content development approaches for a variety of audiences and delivery methods including e-Learning, Classroom Instructor led, Virtual Instructor led, video, infographics, job aids, games, etc.
  • Design learning assessments and surveys to evaluate course effectiveness, learner application, and learning ROI.
  • Participate in and when appropriate conduct Train the Trainer sessions.
  • Use a variety of technology and instructional design software to create and deliver learning assets.
  • Apply technical knowledge to identify trends and solutions for L&D products and services. Learn new software and keep current on emerging technology.
  • Ensure training assets meet legal and compliance review requirements. Abide by laws and Ally L&D policies related to copyright, permissions, and other related requirements.

The Skills You Bring

Bachelor's degree and/or Learning & Development Instructional Design related business experience required. Master's Degree in Instructional Design preferred.

Minimum 3-5+ years of Instructional Design hands-on experience required.

L&D consulting and project management experience preferred.

  • Ability to provide direction and learning solutions in primary areas of expertise.
  • Leverage technical expertise and relationships to contribute to strategy and drive business results.
  • Contribute to and manage projects within deadlines.
  • Knowledgeable in adult learning principles, training need assessment, instructional design methodology, learner engagement and proficiency building
  • Ability to learn various areas of the business, processes, and learner application quick to effectively and efficiently build training that delivers required results/proficiency.
  • Ability to design and develop learning assets and courses for all delivery methods (Instructor-Led, Virtual Instructor-Led, e-Learning, etc.) utilizing a variety of L&D software and course authoring tools.
  • High level of consultation, collaboration, and problem resolution skills.
  • Less than 25% travel

Base Pay Range: $55000 - $80000 USD

An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.

Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
